John Louis Schwallie had been recording indie rock songs in the midwest for years before his world came crashing down.
 
At the start of college, he began self-producing and releasing his original material, first with the &#34;Catalyst EP&#34; in 2014. Soon, John Louis &amp; the Midwest was formed and &#34;We&#39;re All Going to Make It&#34; was released in 2015.
 
With his next endeavor, understatements, John dug deeper into his songwriting, using his songwriting as a means of exploring his mental state, and ultimately releasing a collection of songs, titled &#34;Tell Me That I&#39;m Not Alone&#34;.
 
By his final semester of college, John was engaged to be married, but far from home while attending the Contemporary Music Center in Brentwood, TN. Tasked to write a new song every other week, he reflected on his tumultuous long-distance relationship in real-time. When the situation escalated to an intense break-up, John found the only way to process his pain was to write through it.
 
Collaborating with friend and producer, Benjamin Mariano, he crafted a collection of songs chronicling that traumatic relationship from beginning to end, and onward to recovery. The full-length album, &#34;I&#39;ll Be Fine&#34; was released in 2020, via Despicable Records.
 
A follow-up collection of B-sides, titled &#34;Before I Was Fine&#34; was released on April 3rd 2021, and it is currently available as part of the deluxe &#34;I&#39;ll Be Fine&#34; digibook on John&#39;s online merch store. See &#34;For Your Consideration&#34; for more details.
